Expert Talk: Jeff Jonas, Laszlo Barabasi and Carlota Perez on Big Data

‘It will be just as transformative as the internet-allowed communication was for us’ Sometimes we need to let the experts speak. We write a lot of stories on big data but we also speak to a lot of very interesing people about the topic. So today we want to let three experts give their vision on big data. First of all we asked Jeff Jonas, Chief Scientist of the IBM Entity Analytics group & IBM Distinguished Engineer, what big data means to him. Then we asked Albert-László Barabási, physicist, Distinguished Professor and Director of Northeastern University’s Center for Complex Network Research and best known for his work in the research of network theory, on how the Big Data burst can help society in its progress. Finally we talk to Carlota Perez, Professor of Technology and Socio-Economic Development, about how revolutionary resources are getting cheap and how data fits this description.
