Presentation Carlota Perez – Our digital future
Dec 3, 2019
Silicon Valley venture capital firms take her predictions as a guidance for their investments and we had the honor to have her on stage during our Executive Summit Utopia for Beginners. We are talking about Professor Carlota Perez of course. In the next video, she will share her vision on ‘Utopia for Beginners’.
About Carlota Perez
Carlota Perez is one of the world’s foremost experts on the impact of technical change on economic growth and development of society. Silicon Valley venture capital firms like Andreessen Horowitz take her predictions as a guidance for their investments. Carlota Perez is Author of the influential Technological Revolutions and Financial Capital: The Dynamics of Bubbles and Golden Ages.
Her work has contributed to the present understanding of the relationship between technology, innovation and economic development, and between technical and institutional change. The big picture that Carlota Perez is presenting shows a near future in which the role of technology will be quite different. It’s an intriguing idea to understand that the role of organizations in that near future will be defined by society itself. We could consider it as the ‘post-technological era’ – technology is not about technology anymore, it’s about the ultimate human connection with the world we all live in.
Carlota Perez is an Honorary Professor at IIPP-UCL and Prof. of Socio-Economic Development at Tallinn University of Technology, Tallinn, Estonia. For the 2015-17 period, she occupied the post of Centennial Professor at the London School of Economics.

The input came from 14 inspiring keynotes given by academics, thought leaders and business leaders and was used in several round table discussions to learn from peers in the same and different industries.
