Elon Musk Becomes Twitter’s Largest Shareholder

And now? What will this mean for the future of Twitter?

Metaverse and Money: Decrypting the Future

“The Metaverse of the future is likely to encompass more digitally-native tokens, but also embed traditional forms of money. Money in the Metaverse could exist in different forms, i.e., in-game tokens, stablecoins, central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), and cryptocurrencies. Current payment rails are usually domestic for real time and expensive cross-border payments making them an imperfect fit for a borderless global Metaverse ecosystem. We expect decentralized finance (DeFi) and existing traditional financial systems to coexist.”
Great report. Over 180 pages of information about the metaverse and how it will change our understanding of money.

The Great Resignation Is Taking Root Around The World

“Two years since Covid-19 disrupted lives around the planet, the United States doesn’t have a monopoly on the factors driving ”The Great Resignation“. Dissatisfaction with working conditions, uninspiring jobs and bad bosses has gone global, as has a desire to seek out a better deal from companies short on staff. The data for other markets often lags. But the latest figures now show that resignations have jumped in the United Kingdom, Australia and France, too. And while experts say a wave of quitting hasn’t materialized in countries like Germany and Singapore, surveys indicate workers there are also eying the exits.”

Virtual reality can induce mild and transient symptoms of depersonalization and derealization, study finds

Depersonalization and derealization tended to be higher immediately after gaming

“What our study shows is that half an hour of VR use can induce mild symptoms of depersonalization and derealization, which, however, do not reach clinically significant levels and are only evident directly after VR use,” Braun told PsyPost.
However, Braun noted that “whether long-term depersonalization and derealization symptoms can also occur, and to what extent long-term VR use leads to an intensification or attenuation of depersonalization and derealization symptoms, is still unclear and requires further investigation.” Read the full coverage of this study at PsyPost.

TikTok-Related Tics—and Other Disorders

“Tourette videos posted on the platform continue to draw many viewers, and doctors say teen girls keep showing up at their offices with functional neurological issues.

This is getting out of control.
