The 2025 autumn event of Vereniging TestNet was great! Catching up with old colleagues and getting to know new people: it’s an inspiring day.
I presented my talk: Quality Culture Foundations: Are You Travelling on the Software Highway Yet? and got great responses from the audience. It’s always such a pleasure to engage in conversations after the talk and listen to people’s own experiences.

In the morning, I attended Rik Marselis’ workshop Exploratory Testing: Pairtesting with your Gen AI and made copious notes. I have his new book Amplified Quality Engineering With/For Gen AI on my to-read list so this was a great teaser.
Darren Richardson delivered a keynote on Dead Internet Theory: Fiction or Future. I quite enjoyed his bleak dystopian picture and share his bafflement at some of the current events: corporate social responsibility has indeed failed.

In the afternoon, Derk-Jan de Grood spoke about Staying Relevant in a Rapidly Changing World and highlighted the importance of practices: a small container of skills, knowledge and mindset to perform a certain task well.

As I could only stay through dinner, I missed Rick Tracy‘s closing keynote on “We are the Testers: You Will Be Assimilated”. Luckily, I already managed to catch up with Rick earlier in the day, and I am sure it was absolutely great!
So: thanks to Suzanne Kraaij (for the company & the great picture!), Anne-Marie Charrett for her excellent Quality Coaching book that I got to show off and for the original metaphor), as well as to Hendrik Marcel Borst, Julia, Louise Bettonviel and all my Sogeti colleagues at our sponsor stand. I had a fabulous day!
All sketchnotes were made on the day itself using a reMarkable Pro, and then transferred to an iPad to get coloured in Procreate. All human-drawn (by me!) with absolutely NO Gen AI involved.
