The New PC or Pitching Convergence: Both Industry AND Business!
Apr 3, 2014
You Say You Want a Revolution, let me ask you Beatlishly? Industry or Business? Information or Operational Technology – IT or OT? I say it’s both! My fellow countryman Jan de Vries, a professor at UC Berkeley now, he more or less taught me so. Let’s start with this here slide. One up, and only 2 more to go!
A couple of weeks ago, I stumbled upon Jan’s book about The Industrious Revolution. We are living, and have been doing so for centuries, a continuous Industrial Revolution which in essence is BOTH industrial AND industrious alike.
I was not flabbergasted by his well-documented insights but found myself strengthened in my own intuition along these lines.
Technology Convergence (my third slide below) is all about Industry and Business. About blue collar and white collar, so to speak. About Industrial Control and the Cloud. Need I say more?
Digital “Things” accelerate the process these days: SensorThings and RoboThings. Don’t let me keep you any longer, and look at my last two slides. Hold your breath and I promise not to comment. Let’s start with the money . . .
