Serendipity is alive and well. I hadn’t planned to be in the office that day, but decided to go in anyway and my planned evening at home turned out to be remarkably calm during a busy season. So, when I got the call that there had been a last minute cancellation and could I please present that same evening, I could say “Yes.” Fifteen minutes later, and I would’ve already been on my way home, but as it was: I had a blast at Capgemini’s TestJam 2025: Testing to the Stars and Beyond.
The evening started with a nice dinner buffet after which we all listened to Nathalie Rooseboom de Vries – van Delft‘s keynote: Is Validation Without the End User A Realistic Vision of the Future? I found it fascinating to learn about air traffic control and Nathalie’s experience.

After the keynote, there were two parallel sessions to choose from. I chose Tricentis’s Roman Zednik‘s presentation: Mission: Autonomy – Launching Tricentis’ Agentic AI Strategy into Orbit. I enjoyed learning more about Agentic AI and how Tricentis is advancing this approach.

The second session was my own presentation: Quality Culture Foundations: Are You Travelling on the Software Highway Yet?

I also realized while on the stage what had gone wrong with the visuals between the TestNet event the day before and this event when I made minor tweaks, which still bugs me—but at least it’s resolved for future events.
The conversations with audience members afterwards were nice: the message resonated well and people were kind.
TestJam was such an unexpected pleasure – unexpected solely because I hadn’t planned to attend until an hour before the start – and I thoroughly enjoyed the evening. Thanks to Mazin Inaad and the rest of the organising team for the call!
