Jorus Everaerd

Senior Consultant | Netherlands

After a succesful 10-year career in international banking, Jorus decided in 2009 to become an entrepreneur. In that same year he set up a web startup and in 2010 het founded a systems engineering company in (high end) smart homes. This company was sold early 2020. During his entrepreneurship Jours discovered a passion for new and accelerating technologies and the possibilities that they offer to businesses. As a deep dive into this subject Jorus studied at Singularity University in Sillicon Valley in 2013. Here he got inspired, found an international network and received a frame for thinking about accelerating technologies and its possibilities. Upon his return to the Netherlands Jorus started speaking about the subject through Speakers Academy. The talks resulted in requests for consultancy on new technologies, smart buildings and digital transformation. The most extensive consultancy assignment was in Internet of Things (IoT) in which Jorus set up the ecosystem, did the technology selection, sourced and executed pilots and enabled partnering for a services company. After a short startup adventure in smart waste management Jorus decided in 2018 to join a large consultancy to be able to pursue his ambition of working on Digital Manufacturing in a team. Jorus is driven by discovery, learning, ideation and uncommon challenges. In his current assignment at Philips he is busy developing a framework and model to measure impact on (customer- and user) experience. This involves quantification, IoT and machine learning. Jorus loves to talk and write about his work, technology and ideas so feel free to contact him.
