Yvan Hernandez has been with Sogeti Chicago for the last 3 ½ years. Started as Manager Consultant specializing in SharePoint and .Net and quickly became an SME for SharePoint leading the SharePoint community of practice for the next 2 years. Yvan was promoted to Senior Manager in December 2012 and currently leads the Business Applications practice. Within Sogeti USA, Yvan actively participates as SME within the Microsoft Alliance Group for Yammer after securing partnership level by obtaining his Power-User, Administrator and Community Manager certifications in 2013 and with the Business Critical SharePoint (BCSP) group; he is also a member of the National SharePoint leadership group. Within the local communities, Yvan participates regularly as speaker and organizer of the local SharePoint Social “Share-a-Pint” group, Elgin SharePoint User Group and is member of the board for the SharePoint Saturday Chicago-Suburbs (www.spschicagosuburbs.com); his interest and passion for SharePoint, Yammer and Cloud offerings has enabled Yvan to attend to the last 2 editions of the SharePoint Conference; additionally, he is proficient in SQL Server, Infrastructure (Identity Management), and currently engages clients as Solution and Application Architecture roles for SharePoint and .Net applications. Previously, Yvan worked as senior developer in .Net for PSC, a local consulting firm where he lead the development team for the public facing SharePoint site for Barilla Pasta. He also worked for Daugherty Business Solutions for over 3 years as a .Net developer assigned to Allstate Insurance where he lead the team in charge of Claim Status service, and was the main developer behind the re-design of the 1-800-Allstate service with the Voice team and implemented a SharePoint solution for Agency Establishment under a tightly controlled environment with mostly out of the box features. Yvan was involved in major applications development at Walmart in Bentonville, AK., and for the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (NRAEF) in Chicago. In 1995, Yvan started his career in IT in Venezuela working for a subsidiary of AT&T Easy Link services, an early messaging service where he provided support and service setup for clients in Venezuela and Colombia; he switched to Web development in 1998 and toured the country in 1999 as TechNet speaker for Microsoft Venezuela in Site Server 3.0 Commerce Edition. He is perfectly fluid in Spanish.
