This week a commercial made by the Belgium website safeinternetbanking.be was published on YouTube. In the video you can see how the extremely gifted clairvoyant Dave finds out all kinds of specific information about his victims. He even knows the number of their bankaccount. His victims are completely flabbergasted. How does Dave know all this information. Is he really a soothsayer or is he a swindler. And then the curtain falls. People with masks on have combined all kinds of data sources so Dave can sketch the perfect picture. This video shows the potential power of Big Data. It can aggregate, combine and filter all kinds of data sources so you can really know your customer. This great power has positive and negative side effect. Will Big Data help the customers or is it enslaving them? Just be aware: Big Data knows who you are. Big Data is watching.

    1. Hmm.. yes… I saw this and it’s obviously a scripted commercial, not a real hidden camera recording. How would your bank information (by far the most ‘shocking’ part of the video) be available online? Unless there is some belgian system that I don’t know about?
